On November 8, 2023, at approximately 9:25 am, Gypsumville RCMP responded to a stabbing at a residence in Little Saskatchewan First Nation.
Upon arrival officers located a 22-year-old male suffering from several stab wounds. The suspect had fled the scene.
Due to the heavy snow and the serious injuries to the victim, officers transported the male and met the ambulance in a parking lot of a business on Highway 6.
The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers identified a suspect and he was located a short time later and arrested without incident.
Nathan Sumner, 26, of Little Saskatchewan First Nation, has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Fail to Comply.
Gypsumville RCMP continue to investigate.
