Melfort — Melfort RCMP: man charged after almost 800 grams of suspected illicit drugs seized

On October 30, 2023 at approximately 7 a.m., Melfort RCMP received a report of an altercation at a residence in Star City.

Officers immediately responded and during the course of the investigation observed suspected crack cocaine in plain view in the residence.

Officers then obtained and executed a search warrant at the residence. They located and seized approximately a half kilogram of suspected crystal methamphetamine, approximately 290 grams of suspected cocaine and a sum of cash.

An adult male was arrested at the residence. 41-year-old Brandon Fulmes from Star City is charged with:

  • one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
  • one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine), Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
  • one count, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code; and
  • four counts, fail to comply with probation order, Section 733.1(1), Criminal Code;

He is scheduled to appear in Melfort Provincial Court on November 9, 2023.
