Secure Entry Points – Lock all doors and windows, install deadbolts, peep holes and install medal door frames.

Lighting – A well lit home can deter potential break ins at night.

Alarms and surveillance systems – Security systems including alarms and cameras can help deter break ins. Ensure signage is displayed indicating the property is protected, this can even be done if there is no system in place.

Limit information sharing – Avoid posting about trips on social media, don’t share with people what valuables you have in the home.

Neighbourhood and Community Awareness – Get to know you neighbours and watch out for each other.
