A 47-year-old man, 32-year-old man and a 38-year old woman have been arrested following a drug trafficking investigation in Moncton, N.B.
On October 19, 2023, members of the Codiac Regional RCMP’s Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) observed what was believed to be drug trafficking transactions on Gordon Street, in Moncton. A short time later, police stopped a vehicle in connection with the incident near the intersection of Saint-George and Botsford Streets, and three individuals were arrested.
Subsequent to the arrests, police conducted searches of the individuals and the vehicle, and seized quantities of what is believed to be fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine, prescription pills, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and money.
A 32-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were later released, and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
On October 20, Martin Sirois of Memramcook appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and was charged with:
- Trafficking fentanyl
- Trafficking methamphetamine
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance
He was released on conditions, and is scheduled to return to court on December 1.
The investigation is ongoing.
