Dorchester — 46-year-old man charged, firearm and drugs seized

A 46-year-old man from Dorchester, N.B., has been charged following an investigation into threats, and the seizure of a firearm and drugs in the community.

On October 19, 2023, members of the Sackville RCMP detachment arrested a 46-year-old man in Dorchester in connection with uttering threats and assault with a weapon. Subsequent to the arrest, police executed a search warrant at a residence in connection with the investigation, and seized a firearm, knives, ammunition, a prohibited weapon. Police also seized quantities of what is believed to be cannabis, fentanyl, oxycodone, and contraband cigarettes.

On October 20, Cory Lucci appeared in Moncton Provincial Court by way of tele-remand, and was charged with assault with a weapon. He was remanded into custody.

On October 24, Cory Lucci returned to Moncton Provincial Court, and was charged with several additional offences, including:

  • Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking

  • Possession of oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking

  • Possession of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking

  • Uttering threats

  • Possession of a firearm while prohibited

  • Unlawful possession of a weapon

  • Possession of a prohibited weapon

  • Impaired operation of a motor vehicle

He was remanded into custody, and is scheduled to return to court on November 2.

The investigation is ongoing.
