On October 3, 3023 at approximately 10:15 p.m., Maidstone RCMP received a report of a collision on Highway #17, south of Onion Lake.
Initial investigation determined an SUV struck a deer, then collided with a car. A male youth passenger in the car was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. He has been identified as a 16-year-old from Lloydminster. His family has been notified.
The driver and passenger in the SUV, as well as the driver and two additional passengers in the car were taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Maidstone RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
