Detectives who previously released images of two men sought in connection with a firearms incident in Newham have charged a man.

On Saturday, 30 December 2017, police received reports that shots had been fired in Butchers Road, Canning Town at around 03:25hrs.

Chris Kaba, 19, (23.07.1998) of Bowen Street, SE26 was charged on Sunday, 11 February, with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

He appeared in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 12 February.

Police continue to appeal for information to identify a second suspect, shown on CCTV at the scene. He is described as a black male, wearing black joggers, black trainers and a black coat with a light-coloured fur hood.
