Appeal after elderly man robbed of pension

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after an elderly man was attacked and robbed.

Police were called at 07:10hrs on 22 November 2017, after a 90-year-old man reported being assaulted and pushed to the floor, before having his wallet stolen in Jerome Crescent, NW8.

The victim was leaving a residential address when a man and woman approached him from behind.

They struck the victim around the back of the head and pushed him to the floor before the woman took his wallet, which contained cash and bank cards.

Police are looking to speak to a black man, aged in his 30s, who is described as having a muscular build and 6ft 1in tall. He was wearing a light coloured hooded top, black trousers and white trainers.

The female suspect is described as white, aged in her early 30s, with red hair, approximately 5ft 9ins tall and of a thin build. She was wearing a yellow coat and carrying a large black bag.

It is thought that she might be local to the area.

Detective Sergeant Jonathan Bradshaw, from Westminster CID, said: “The victim was attacked and robbed of his pension money as he was heading to see a friend. Luckily he sustained no injuries but was left shaken up by the attack.

“This was a cowardly attack on a vulnerable man, who was unable to fight back and defend himself. We’re very keen to find the perpetrators and are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident to contact police.”
